The art of connection.
Artis resident Jean was going to miss her daughter’s art opening. The gallery had stairs Jean couldn’t manage and the atmosphere would have been too stimulating. Knowing how meaningful this event was to both mother and daughter, Corey Compa, Director of Community Relations, took action. She recorded a video of Jean expressing her pride in her daughter’s accomplishment and had Jean sign a card of congratulations. Then Corey and her own daughter attended the gallery opening. Corey shared the video and card––it was the first time in years Jean’s daughter had seen her mom’s handwriting. Corey also photographed the exhibit so Jean could share in her daughter’s big moment.
Delighted to be a link connecting mother and daughter, Corey’s efforts demonstrate two of Artis’ guiding principles: supporting relationships and celebrating successes.
